Echo Boost Blue Fly Rod

The Boost Blue is built for anglers with an aggressive casting stroke to achieve maximum line speed. Tim relentless tweaked the design of the Boost salt series resulting in these all-new rod actions. With the light tip section mated to a powerful bottom section, anglers will find the Boost Salt packs the punch required to fight the wind and other challenging conditions. The Boost Blue features upgraded titanium stripping guides and is the perfect rod for aggressive casters who can’t live without that modern, fast-action rod feel.

• Four piece travel design Lightweight, high-modulus graphite

• Fast and Crip Action

• Fabric-covered rod case & sock

• Full-titanium guides on all models

• Black anodized seat on all models

ACTION VS POWER COMPARISON

Use this chart to choose an ECHO rod that best fits you and your personal casting stroke. The vertical axis indicates the rod’s power, while the horizontal axis indicates the rod’s action. In simple terms, single-hand rod action is derived from the top half of the rod, while power is derived from the bottom half

ACTION
Fast action rods feature softer tips than medium action rods and provide a ‘stiffer’ feel. Fast action rods excel in the hands of anglers with more aggressive casting strokes and greater stroke control. Medium action rods are ideal for anglers with more fluid casting strokes and have a larger ‘sweet spot’ for a wider range of casting strokes. Consistently throwing a tailing loop? Your rod’s action may not be a good fit to you and your casting stroke.

POWER
A rod’s power is its resistance to flexing under load. Powerful rods are ‘beefier’ through the bottom half, generate higher line speeds, and are more adept at keeping big fish pinned. Delicate rods are more presentation-oriented, protect light tippet, and are a better choice for picky fish.

ECHO WARRANTY

All ECHO rods are covered by a lifetime warranty for the original owner. Service covers all manufacturer defects, incidental damage, or anything that is keeping your ECHO rod from performing in a fish-able manner. Normal wear and tear and cosmetic issues caused by sun exposure, saltwater, or other environmental factors are not covered by our warranty. This includes damages to blanks, hardware, and cork. All ECHO reels are covered by a one year warranty for the original owner.

Echo Boost Blue 9wt, nice rod at attractive pricing

I bought this 9wt to replace some stiff-as-a-board 9 and 10wts with a lighter, easier casting rod. For lawn casting, I used a Rio Mainstream 9F Saltwater.for lawn casting, and found it to be a good casting rod. A smooth tempo gets you accurate casts between 35' and 60'. Using a single haul, you can pick up about 35'-40' of line and shoot to about 60'. A couple of false casts and single haul will get you cloast to 80' (my casting area runs out at 78'). For casts longer than 60' feet, I added a small "punch" late in my fore cast. I still plan to try our at least one other line and also have a redfish trip coming up. I will update the results at that time. All in all I am pleased with the rod and with the customer service at Stillwater, though the true test is yet to come.
