What makes Abel Reels Different?

• The differences in Abel reels from our competitors are both obvious and subtle.
• At first you’ll see the incredible proprietary anodized finish, done by us in our own precision machine shop (not sub-contracted), hand-polished to perfection.
• Not so obvious is the use of cold finished aluminum, a costlier process that produces a denser, stronger metal for a lifetime of fly-fishing pleasure.
• Reels are made entirely in our shop and are monitored at every step by precision micrometers.
• Over fifteen machinists and technicians handle each reel during production.
• All parts – even the internal components – are hand polished.
• But most of all, our reels are made with an ingredient that’s difficult to define, however you’ll know it when you see it: American Pride of Craftsmanship
