Unparalleled in Weight and Performance
All in-stock Non-G Series are right hand reel; they are discontinued and no longer available to order in different sizes, colors or LH retrieve.
The Nautilus NV (~EN-VEE) series is available in four sizes and is unparalleled in both weight and performance. The Nautilus NV 8/9, 10/11, 11/12 are completely impervious to the elements and will outperform any fighting class reel on the market today.
The NV series feature the NV CCF drag system that is larger than the Nautilus CCF brake, and stainless steel components have largely been replaced by ceramics and titanium. These true large arbor reels are only exceeded in performance by the slender looks and subtle beauty: No detail has been omitted, from its low profile drag knob and counterweight to the 100 and 200 yard backing markers on the inside of the spool.
Loaded with the latest technology, featuring titanium drag shafts and high performance ceramic micro bearings. Ceramics and titanium are impervious to the elements, so you’ll spend less time worrying and more time fishing. NV reels feature a “thrust bearing to thrust bearing” drag design for effortless cranking resistance under any load, ensuring the smoothest line retrieval of any reel on the market. Using titanium and ceramics has allowed us to downsize components, increase the drag surface by over 75%, and still decrease the overall weight without sacrificing the fighting class qualities that are the hallmark of our products.
The lightest reel in its class is exceeded in performance only by its slender looks and subtle beauty. Definitely EN-VEE-able!
The greatest value in any big game fly reel available in the market today. Simply put, the best reels money can buy.
Completely impervious to the elements and will outperform any fighting class reel on the market.
LARGER CCF DRAG SYSTEM
The NV sports a larger version of the CCF drag system compared to their Nautilus CCF siblings.
This reel is now my work horse for both saltwater fly and swinging big flies for sea run browns.
The reel had an excellent construction and anodised finish. Best of all I love the rustproof construction for saltwater fishing. The reel gets a regular dunking in the salt and only requires a good rinse as maintenance. Other feels I have had required daily stripping and regressing to avoid corrosion around the spindle and bearings.
It has heaps of drag so much that decent sized Kahawai and rat kings tow me in my kayak.
Nautilus NV 10-11 G8
I'm not going to kick around other saltwater reels because they have been very functional getting tarpon, permit, bonefish, etc. But, I love my NVs. Who knew a heavy duty fly reel could be this comfortable to use. These reels make saltwater fishing so much easier. Cha-Ching. These reels have to be the best.
