The first nice fly rod I was able to purchase was a Scott G Series 3wt over 20 yrs ago. I instantly loved this rod and still fish it today. I've had my eye on a Scott Radian for a couple years, but when it came time to purchase a new 6wt, I went with the G. The marketing people @ Scott can do a better job of describing the rod...but there are 2 things that I personally like most about this rod:
1: Casting....it's just sweet. I love hero casting a super fast rod as much as anyone, but the slower casting action of the G is perfect.
2: Light Tippet Protection...landing big trout on little flies at the end of 12 feet of light leader/tippet is really tough on a stiff rod...but no issue whatsoever for the G.
Overall, this is an awesome rod, and I look forward to owning it for the next +20 years.
